Assignment of contract

/glossary/assignment-of-contract
A real estate practice where the original buyer (often a wholesaler) transfers their purchase contract to a third party for a fee, before closing. Sellers should avoid assignment-friendly buyers — it usually means the original 'buyer' is shopping your contract and may renegotiate or back out.
